Thanks to Ansan Limited, who gave P J McGrath & Sons an order to carry out 2400m2 of flooring in a high build epoxy resin coating system from RSL.

This was a gem of a job as we had no time limit to complete the works and best of all, it was completely free of all equipment and other trades. If only every job was like this one!

Mechlam Precision Tooling

A high build coating was applied after the existing coating had been removed by diamond grindig,rather than using the conventional method of vacuum shot blasting.

The advantages of grinding is that it leaves the floor with a flatter profile unlike blasting which can leave more prominent "tram" lines.

Runshaw College Reception

The start of a new term at Runshaw College, Leyland and a new reception area for the students and staff.

The floor area consists of 500 m2 of Altro screed quartz in pearl including stairways, access ramps and two circular features in kyanite to provide contrast against the colour of the main floor.

This is a hard-wearing, easy to clean flooring system, finished with a non-slip surface - ideal for the thousands of student's feet that will pass through the reception area each day.

Teva Pharmaceuticals - New Syringe Filling Plant

We recently completed 500m2 of Sikafloor 263SL applied at 3mm to the new syringe filling plant at Teva in Runcorn. Work was carried to the usual high standards of P. J. McGrath & Sons.

This was part of an ongoing project of 5000m2 which has been completed over the last 7 years. It also includes high class clean rooms, epoxy skirtings and production areas.

Now and again we get an unusual request and this is one of the best: Castle Fine Arts Foundry asked us to replicate a Tarmac roadway which was to be the base for a life-size Fiat 500 with a 5 meter long arm attached to the roof.

The car belongs to Lorenzo Quinn, the son of the famous Hollywood film star Anthony Quinn. We used Resin Surfaces Ltd Resutop in black as the binder, and Tarmac stone for the aggregate. It was applied at a thickness of 25mm to an area of 25m2.

It is now on display at the Valencia Museum in Spain to coincide with the recent Spanish Grand Prix.

Welshpool Cattle Market - Floor Fit For A Queen!

The largest cattle market in Europe has just been officially opened by the Queen and Prince Phillip.

We were brought in by Altro Resins Ltd as the original reception floor was concrete and hard to keep clean after market days. Our target was to deliver a functional, hard wearing surface yet also more aesthetic in appearance.

The result is stunning - 320 m2 of Altro Mosaic providing an easy to clean, non-slip and decorative finish ready for the royal visit.
